Due to current circumstances regarding a recall with VIVA RAW, I cannot recommend feeding their turkey or puppy products.
A recall was issued after finding bacterial contamination in the food. Initially, the company said none of that lot went out from their distributors. But several dogs and puppies have turned up with gastrointestinal symptoms or are refusing to eat the food.
Until we find out more from the company (hopefully!), please do not the food. It is always best to be safe than sorry.
My number one commercial food still remains:
They use fermentation to provide wonderful probiotics in their food as well as crowd out pathogenic bacteria. They have never had a recall. And their food is the ONLY food that I see consistently reverse inflammation and chronic disease states. No, they are not paying me to say this.
Thanks for this. For the past week and a half, I’ve been in the process of transitioning my dog to two kinds of Viva Raw: rabbit and duck. Not the puppy versions. Just to be clear, should I stop with Viva altogether until further notice?
