Slowly but surely. My grandparents on both sides were old style farmers and ranchers, with "Polyface farms". I was lucky to be have experienced how people used to farm in America.

RFK Jr will do this...IF he gets in. They need some behavior rules governing those confirmation hearings. They can't censor them from even the most ridiculous topics, but I'm sure they could rule that they can't make any accusations. They can ask questions, no matter how insane but they should not be allowed to accuse them of anything, it turns the hearings into a circus.

I was just having this conversation with a friend who is a vet. I'm not totally on board with RFK or Trump for that matter, but I'm optimistic that some of the rules and regs around human and animal medical care and treatments will be reformed. The movement of vet clinics to REQUIRE full vaccination for everything before treating an animal really burns me. I've titered my dogs for about 20 years now and currently I have a dog with an auto immune issue (resolved) and one in remission for cancer. For their health and protection, I will not vaccinate them. So I may not be able to obtain medical care? Hoping that this at least starts a rational and productive conversation around the current corporate vet protocols that are injuring our animals. And Gabapentin???WTF? They give it for EVERYTHING, often with no diagnosis. Grrrrrr....

The vaccination requirements are made by the vet clinic itself, except for Rabies. I would fight it and make a cooy of the vaccine insert saying it is contraindicated to vax sick animals

I guess this is one area we are luckier for in Canada, especially Western Canada, as we don’t have enforced vaccination programs. I’ve been recommending titres for 20+ years and rarely even handle a Rabies vaccine, nevermind Lepto.

I am cheering RFK on here!! Save the kids and indirectly, our pets! I speak about BigPetfood and BigPharma daily too Josie, educating one client at a time. It’s such a blessing to see the health and vitality in my patients. Boo to MAbs!

So grateful for your Substack! Wish you lived closer!!

Sorry to be so late with my question, but I wondered what you think about the "limited ingredient" pet foods. I'm giving my two cats one called Applaws. They really like it, and It's fairly expensive, so it should be better, but I'd appreciate your opinion. Here's the link to it on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0BYT92J28/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_image_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1. Thank you for another great article, and I'm for sure rooting for RFK to be confirmed!

I honestly cannot conscientiously recommend any highly-processed pet food like kibble. The ingredients are sourced from the dregs of slaughterhouses. To make it into crunchy kibble bites it requires high starch and high carbs, many of which are GMO and loaded with glyphosate. There is an epidemic of food intolerances, food allergies, pancreatitis and type II diabetes in our dogs and cats and these types of food are to blame.

There are many more high quality whole-food complete diets available for cats these days, including Small Batch, OC Raw, All Provide and Savage Cat to name a few. Cats are obligate carnivores and need high quality meat.
